Peter chose beavers as the theme for his 2011 Romance Annual for two reasons. Firstly, beavers pair for life, a requirement for the Romance pieces, and secondly, he hadn’t carved a beaver themed box figurine since 1995’s “Damnable Plot”. “Tunnel of Love”, a fixed edition of 400, is replete with inscriptions: “Castor Canadensis” is the scientific name for the Canadian Beaver, “lodge” is the home of the beaver, “kits” are the young, and “merkin” – well, we suggest you look that up on Wikipedia. Moving swiftly along, the interior shows a beaver with a chainsaw, a reference to its ability to fell trees quickly. Look carefully at the beaver tails and you may be able to see the initials of two HK founders.

Although Harmony Kingdom is still manufactured at Wimberley Mills near Stroud in Gloucestershire, since Martin Perry, the founder retired in August 2005, marketing and shipping of the pieces is done from the USA office at Harmony Ball Company in Ohio. This means that we have to consolidate our orders before having them shipped to us. We are currently taking deliveries about every 6 weeks and so there may be a delay with your order if the piece is not already in stock. We will advise by email. Hope this doesn't cause a problem.
